Sister's by Heart

When we learned about Mallory's heart defect we felt all alone. Over the months we have been in touch with other families that have been down the same road, or are traveling that road now. Another mom referred me to a website called "Sister's by Heart". This website is full of moms who share their stories with a lot of positive stories and helpful information. When we got home from our trip to Michigan, we received a care package from them. They had sent lots of goodies for Mallory and me that will be helpful during her stay. They also sent a bear for Mallory's big sisters...

Madison and her bear

Carlee and her bear

These bears are the official teddy bears of the Teddy Bears That Care Program. There job is to provide love and friendship. They were given to be your friend and cheer you up. Whenever they feel down or upset they can hug them.

Our visit to Michigan

In our last visit to Michigan for some routine checkups before Mallory's arrival we were able to view the new Mott's hospital and get great news about her progress.  The ultrasound showed Mallory is weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces..this was great news because according to her surgeon, Dr. Bove, if she would be born now, she would be big enough for the first surgery. What a huge relief!! We also had a chance to tour the floor where we will deliver and the Pediatric ICU where she will be spending the time before and after surgery....

Inside the entrance...welcoming

Ronald McDonald House

The delivery room...nice and bright! All rooms have a sofa bed, private bathrooms, refrigerators and large screen tv's on the wall...

Before and after surgery this is where Mallory will be.  Rooms are very big and there is a reclining chair for one parent to stay the night, but we will be trying to get another!!  A fridge and a flat screen tv with an awesome feature...

Get Well Town...all tv's have access to this..
this is where you can check out the menu's for the day, watch tv, access the Internet and watch movies, also check out the population of how many kids are in the hospital..population while we were there was 479
